Appointments

Doctor appointments

We book Doctor/Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) appointments on the same day that you want your consultation, so called ‘same day appointments’. The majority of our appointments are for telephone consultations so the doctor can assess your needs and invite you to the surgery if they want to see you or you want to see them. We encourage everyone who can, to book routine appointments using our ‘Digital Front Door‘. This will free up the Appointment phoneline for patients who need an urgent appointment or extra help making a booking.

Tips:

  • For routine appointments: Our Digital Front Door is open for routine same day appointments from 7am to 12pm, Monday to Friday. If you are unable to use the Digital Front Door, please call 01235 522602 between 8.30am and 12pm. If there are no more appointments available, please try again on the next working day (Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays).
  • For urgent appointments: You can book using the Digital Front Door for a same day appointment from 7am to 12pm. If it is after 12pm or there is no availability to book online, please call 01235 522602 and request an urgent same day appointment. When we are closed, please call 111.
  • Tell us your name, date of birth, preferred language and ask for an interpreter, if you would like us to use our foreign language interpreting service to help with communication. Please also ask if you need the Deaf interpreting (British Sign Language) service.
  • Give the reason why you would like an appointment, either when you book online or speak to the booking staff, so the doctors can prioritise their call list and speak to the more urgent cases first.
  • What happens if you miss the call from the doctor? The doctor will try calling you twice. If you think you have missed their call, please first check your answerphone for a message. If there is no message, please call 01235 522602 to request another call back.
